In Short

This course is based upon the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work.
On completion of this course, participants will be able to perform slinging techniques, select and inspect lifting gear and direct the crane/operator in the movement of the load.

Course Content

To successfully complete the course, participants must demonstrate achievement of each element:
1. Plan Job

Identify and assess hazards, hazard control measures, communication methods lifting equipment needs.

2. Select and Inspect Equipment

Damaged equipment is identified, labelled and rejected, and appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is selected and checked.

3. Prepare Site Equipment

4. Perform Task

5. Shut Down Job and Clean Up
